Paul has been with the business since March 2008 as a Financial Planner and in June in partnership with Scott Fawke purchased Coastwealth Financial.
After spending 13 plus years in Banking with one of the big 4 banks, in 2000 Paul was drawn to the relationship nature of financial planning and commenced his Financial Planning career with AMP, a well historied company in Australia’s financial planning landscape.
Paul understands that every client’s situation is unique and each provides a different challenge but seeing those challenges overcome is always one of his favourite parts of working with clients.
Paul specialises in formulating strategies for Self Managed Super Funds, Wealth Accumulation and Personal Insurances.
Paul is a keen golfer and is a member at Pelican Waters Golf Club. He is also a proud member of the North Queensland Cowboys, whom he passionately supports, and is a cricket and basketball tragic.

Commenced working in the financial services industry within the banking sector from 1991 across NSW, ACT and Qld in various roles including both commercial and residential lending. Commenced the move into Financial Planning area just prior to September 2001.
Since then has worked within different bank financial planning departments along with external private practices, continually learning and developing my own skills and practices. I have operated my own business model since 1999, focusing on strategies and the client relationship.
Michael prides himself on being able to provide holistic solutions to each client’s situation and continually working with them to build and protect the goals and objectives as well as other life issues that arise over time.
Michael loves to work in all areas of financial planning, has significant experience in all areas, especially of pre and post retirement, Aged Care and debt management. He also has a passion to help establish young adults on the path to financial freedom, trying to dispel the myth of having to already have wealth to seek financial advice.
Michael has an Advanced Diploma in Financial Services (Financial Planning), Certificate IV in Financial Service (Mortgage Broking), Certificate III In Banking Services, along with accreditation to deal with Direct Shares.
Scott is not only a Director of Coastwealth Financial Aust Pty Ltd but also the Managing Director of Ausure Coast & Country. Scott started in the insurance Industry in 1993, achieved his Diploma in Financial Services in General Insurance in 2000 and most recently his Diploma in Financial Planning in 2012. Over the last 21 years, Scott has held senior roles with Global Insurance Companies and Large National Brokers.
Whilst Scott doesn’t provide advice within Coastwealth his ability to find solutions for the most complex of General Insurance programs is one of his points of difference. No risk is too big or small, easy or hard for Scott to find an insurer willing to take on the risk. This provides a strategic benefit for Coastwealth’s clients when considering their general insurance needs.
